Son of a Loa!

September 15, 2018

Yeah so … I know it’s been almost a year since I last posted. Who knows when I’ll post after this? But some things just have to be recorded.

First of all, I finished all of the class mount quests in Legion and not much else. But I went into BfA with all 12 classes at max level, plus one extra warlock from the boost. I chose Kerick the Alliance paladin to level first this expansion. Let me just say I love Flynn Fairwind.

Afterwards, I started the opening Horde quests with my undead warlock. She did the scenarios, sailed to Zandalar to meet King Rastakhan, and went … meh. She had no connection to the story whatsoever. Fortunately, it was almost Faire time at this point, so on Faire week I leveled my troll druid from 102 and got her going. Normally I won’t repeat the scenarios, but she NEEDED to meet Zul. I knew she would be smitten with him.

Zul

His sarcastic wit had her head over heels instantly. She happily went questing about Zuldazar until she got finished wiping the mogu out of the port and was flown back to report to the king.

I should have seen it coming. No. Really. I SHOULD HAVE SEEN IT COMING. Ro’kahn knew, if only I had been paying attention.

Rokhanknows

In the interest of not spoiling things I won’t elaborate further. Just know that Vorta is feeling hurt and betrayed and very confused. She knows what she needs to do, and knows where her loyalties need to be, but that doesn’t mean she is happy about it, ya know? But fear not, King Rasta … you can depend on her.

Five Weapon Friday

September 9, 2016

Ok, this is the last of the weapons that I got LAST weekend! This weekend I will actually get to quest in the world so next week’s posts will be something different.

Aluneth

Ah, the Nexus. I do have to agree with others who said this was the hardest mage quest, but I only died on the final boss, and only once. Piece of cake compared to frost DK. Roz’s hair might be due for a recolor though, to match his return to arcane (and his transmog!).

Light’s Wrath

Oh, so once wasn’t enough, I have to save Azuregos again?? But I just DID that! Ok fine. Easier the second time through, whether from learning or class I can’t say. Disc is naturally a bit slower than arcane, but of course has the advantage of survivability. My only real kvetch is the lack of a silence but meh, I’ll deal with it. I’m sure shadow is better at killing, but Rags wants to show off his purty robes.

Fangs of the Devourer

Ok, wait a minute. How is it that I thought sub had become boring? zomgsomuchfun! I seriously had as much fun on this as I do on outlaw. So glad now that I have two rogues so I can mess around with both. Despite not having actually played sub since before the class changes, I *almost* got through without a single death. I mean like I only had to poke the final boss once after coming back from death to finish her off. And then at the end after returning to the hall, someone unexpected shows up. Wait a minute, that didn’t happen in the outlaw one! So cool.

The Fangs of Ashamane

Ok I think I have enough fangs in this post now to tear my way through the Brokened Isles and back. Fun quest full of druidy lore and scenery. Some things I’m not very good at as I haven’t really done cat since … Jade Forest? No, a couple of zones past that, she had the opening ‘kill Osul’ quests for Townlong in her log when the invasions hit. So yeah I got my butt kicked once learning how close I can stealth to stuff but otherwise not a big deal. The screenshot doesn’t come out very well though because of the darkness and the angle. Oh well.

The Warswords of Valor

Ok, for some reason I thought these were going to be 1H, but they are actually big old 2H. TG4evah! Sorry to you fans of SMF, reroll rogue or frost DK.

Anyway … Fury is a little bit different than before. Bloodthirst doesn’t really heal for much and … dude, I actually used bandages. For reals. That doesn’t mean it’s not fun, because it is! It’s just not all that durable anymore, which, I mean honestly, isn’t that the whole idea of a berserking type of fighter? Take damage but dish out more than you get? So yeah, thematically it makes sense. I ran all over Tanaan last xpac killing whatever I met and it was just insane because I almost couldn’t die. Fury warriors were spoiled and OP and that’s pretty much how he ended up my main. So yeah, I have to applaud the changes right now. Maybe later I will change my mind once I start the real questing, but for now, I’m just gonna be positive and roll with it.

So that’s a wrap. I still need to get my two DH going, and my third DK, but I’m going to work on leveling what I’ve got for now. I’ve sent like 5 characters to their first zone, none of which was Highmountain, and gained all of two levels so far, so I have TONS of stuff to look forward to!

This is it!

November 12, 2014

Only hours to go now before Warlords of Draenor. I’m … well, I’m excited, but not in the same way as I have been for past expansions. I’m taking a more relaxed approach this time, much as I did back when Wrath dropped … before I got involved in that whole raiding business. Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed raiding, and made a lot of friends through it. But I am completely ready to just be casual and go at whatever pace I want to set for myself.

I don’t even know who I am going to level first. Van has been my main for something like an expansion and two-thirds now. If I was raiding, well, he would almost certainly be the no-brainer choice. Since I’m only going LFR now, I’m not locked into a choice. And, honestly, even if I was, it seems like they have healers already and I would be reasonably free to choose another dps character if I wanted. So the choice now is really … who do I want to do ALL OF TEH THINGS? You see, even though I am very much an altoholic, I do tend to have one character who gets played the most and goes through all of the quests and reputations. Like for instance, I only had two characters out of 15 at max level who finished unlocking all of Sunsong Ranch. Van was the only character who finished every quest in Pandaria. I only had one character on each faction who completed the Warsong Offensive/Operation Shieldwall storyline. So it’s a bit of an important decision in some ways.

Ok, so Van seems like a good choice. He’s got the best gear, he did the most in the last two expansions, I know I like playing him. But … the blood elves don’t have new models yet. So I’d be playing an old one. And what if, when the new models DO come out, I don’t like them? It could happen. I mean, look at what they did to humans. If that happens, well … I already plan to make one of my three male blood elf paladins into a female tauren. But I will wait until the models come out to decide which one, if it’s going to be the one that I play, or one that’s further down in the alt hierarchy.

Junahu, my Tauren huntress, would be a good choice too. She was my first character, leading the way into Wrath, my first expansion. She did Loremaster back before Cata revamped it and made it easier to accomplish … or at least made it easier to track and eliminated the travel between continents to do a single questline. She collected all of the trackable pets in Mists, has all of the spirit beasts from Wrath, and certainly has her eye on some new hunter pets in Draenor.

Of course, I don’t HAVE to choose someone that I have played a lot. Heck, I could do something crazy like let everyone else go jam up the starting areas while I go back to Pandaria and get the last two levels on Vorta so that she can prowl around Draenor in cat form.

Camouflage kitty!

WoWScrnShot_110414_193354

After all, if I’m not raiding, I have all the time in the world to level. I just have to get one character to 100 by the end of the year so that I can do Molten Core LFR and get a core hound mount. Priorities! 🙂

Can’t Go All Week With No Post

May 2, 2014

So yeah … I haven’t had much to talk about this week, but since I feel bad if I don’t post ANYTHING, here … have some pics of my feral druid playing around while she levels in the Valley.

Hanging out with Chen and Li Li

Huge wolf with giant fangs? No match for day-glo trollcat claws.

WHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

WoWScrnShot_050114_203536

Yeah, I know, I gushed about balance. But you know … kitty is proving to be great fun as well. Sure, equipping her with a 463 archaeology weapon gives her a distinct advantage but still … stuff dies, and fast. Kitty aoe is pretty amazing (not like that shaman bleh). And, well, I get to run around as a cat! Who changes to a different colour every time I shift, thanks to a very fun glyph.

What? Rogue? Um … hey, I needed a break from Kun-Lai, ok? He’ll get his turn again after he gets a carousel buff this weekend. 😉
