Flying Blue

April 30, 2013

I queued for randoms in Wrath endlessly, hoping to get a Blue Drake in my Oculus goody bag. I watched others get them. Hell, I watched others get them who already *had* it and couldn’t even use it.

I queued for randoms in Cata whenever Call To Arms was up for healers, hoping for … well, anything in the way of mounts or pets. I did get some pets that I needed, but no mounts. Other people got Blue Protodrakes and the Baron’s Deathcharger … two mounts that I am still missing even after countless hours of farming.

Then, the BMAH appeared! I’ve gotten some small things from it that I had farmed for previously, like the Giant Sewer Rat. But mounts eluded me, going for far more than I could afford. Arvash paid 60k for his Blue Drake. I knew if I was patient though, eventually there would be no competition left.

Ha! Take that, Arv!

Now if only that Deathcharger would show up again.

Scepter of Azj’Aqir

Yay, Darkmoon Faire time! Roz went to the Faire, got a rare Crow, and did his profession quests. But he didn’t have 15 fossil fragments. Off to dig! Hmmm … not a single fossil site on his map. But look, he has two spots in Uldum, let’s go there.

Naturally, I can’t just dig. I combine it with pet battling/leveling.

In the space of an hour, he got two flawless battlestones … a beast, and a critter. For the beast I have only a couple of choices that I’d like to use it on. I am leaning towards the Feline Familiar. For the critter one, however … zomg choices! Perky Pug maybe, just because I want to see him wipe his butt on the battlefield.

Anyway, once he dug the two spots in Uldum, a fossil site spawned in Tanaris so I hopped over there to complete his quest. While there, I went through his book and completed the projects he had enough other fragments for, and after a couple of small things in his Tol’vir file something new popped up. I had to go wowhead it real quick to be sure I was seeing what I thought I was seeing. Whoa mon, dis be a mount!

With no dig sites left in Uldum, I had to either dig more in Kalimdor, or … well, let’s go to Pandaria, he’s almost maxed on skill and he can turn in these projects for Tol’vir parts. So I hearthed to the Jade Forest and hit up a dig site. That plus the projects I could complete got me to 600. Now … how to get to the Vale at level 86. Hmm … I rode to the Tavern, picking up flight points along the way. As I was trying to figure out how to get on top of the hills and slow fall into the Vale (I’ve heard it can be done) Arv logged on. It didn’t take much begging to get him to come pick me up. Of course, I was prepared for the inevitable attempt to kill me … Arv managed to hit the wrong button to save himself though. haha. Seems like this has happened before hasn’t it? 😉

THEN Mishi wouldn’t fly me up to the Lorewalkers room, so Arv was nice enough to drop me off up there. Got all my artifacts converted and was just over halfway to completion. Nice! But now … I had the flight path so I could get to the Vale, but wouldn’t be able to get up to the ledge again. So digging in Pandaria was kinda out. Ok, well, there’s a bunch of sites up in Mount Hyjal, guess I’ll have to spawn an Uldum site. More digging, more pet battling, and finally one popped up.

By this time it was like 12:30am so of course there was no one on to share with. But hey, it’s done! Roz be lookin good, mon.

Now I just need a Crawling Claw and … yes, sad as it is, I am *still* searching for Tyrande’s bloody doll. /rage

Alt Fun

June 17, 2011

I meant to have an Alliance post today … really, I did. I was going to tell you all about Kaly getting his Winterspring Frostsaber. I even had a screenshot …

I was later than usual getting online last night, so things were in full swing already. Oh look, Arv is on … gah! His warrior is 30 already! My priest had been doing a few instances with him earlier in the week. It was mostly just something to dink around with … but I had so much fun, I decided I wanted to try to keep up with him. I skipped all my usual daily stuff and logged over. Fortunately, Arv was just about ready to go eat, so I would have some time to get my 26 priest a little xp before he came back.

I picked up the cooking daily and then thought .. you know, if I had more heirlooms … and it just spiraled from there. Log on to Van … ok, I have enough JP to purchase either a robe or shoulders … then I go to the guild vendor. Hmm … cloak, helm … wait I wonder how many JPs Arelin has. Oh look, he has more than Van did! So yeah … Dyle got a FULL SET of heirloom gear (minus weapons/trinkets) including the Dread Pirate Ring that Van won in the fishing tourney last weekend. I gotta admit, fully decked out, he looks pretty damn awesome.

I dpsed a pretty strange Gnomer run … went through 5 different tanks and had no tank for half the instance which was mostly tanked by a rogue. I got to 28 though, and then someone wanted to run a heroic so Van at least got to do something other than spend money and points on the priest. Arv gets back shortly before we finish and I tell him about my adventures in Gnomer  … ‘and THAT is why I’d rather run them with you. At least I know I’ll have a tank for the full run.’ Ok, there’s actually more to it than that but w/e.

We ran Gnomer some more, and SM Graveyard a few times .. dinged 30, bought dual spec, and had to decide whether to go disc or holy. (I’d been healing as shadow up to that point. What? It’s not like Arv *needed* much healing.) I really like holy and will probably switch to it later, but … at this point, running leveling dungeons is just more fun with an atonement disc spec. So that’s what I got. Later on Lyssi joined us with her shaman and did a few. We eventually managed to get SM Library once.

So, if you zone into SM in the near future and see Dizzee, Dyle, and Zuleka … I hope you have your running shoes on. Arv tries his best to pull as many things as he can to give me something to do … and every time, after the mobs are dead and we aren’t, I say ‘nice try Arv’ and he replies ‘Dammit’ … lol. Good times. By the end of the night we were all 32-34.
