Rep Galore

September 23, 2015

The Draenor Dungeon bonus event went perfectly with the title of this blog. Even though Van is the one who has the most reputations already, since I’ve been maining Sanbec I stuck with him. Fortunately, a lot of people seemed to be doing them, because the dps queue was only around 12-14 minutes the entire week. I managed to get exalted with the Council of Exarchs, revered with the Steamwheedle Preservation Society, and honored with the Sha’tari Defense. He also got to exalted with two of the three Tanaan factions doing his quests there while in queue. These got me many pets and mounts.

Aside from that, I’m also still working on An Awfully Big Adventure and getting rep on the Timeless Isle. While Van was there this week, there was a lineup of people on Cloud Serpents waiting for Huolon to spawn. Since I still need that mount as well, I joined in the display.

Also this week marks the beginning of Brewfest. I haven’t really paid much attention to it the past couple of years, but this year they added a pet and toy, and there are at least two other toys that I don’t have, so I figured I might as well do some. It really takes no time at all to get 100 tokens, in fact you can do it in one day. Two of the items I need cost 100 and two cost 200, so I’m doing four characters … two of them only have to go for one day and get the 100 token items, and the other two have to kill Coren for a few days to get to 200. No big deal. It’s really faster this way if you have multiple alts to do all of the intro quests on instead of trying to earn all of the items with one character.

Of course, Karius had to stop for a selfie after killing Coren Direbrew.

This week’s bonus event is pet battles, so you can bet I will be out there leveling pets!

A Tisket, A Tasket

April 14, 2015

Ten days since last post. I’m slacking! It’s not that I haven’t been playing. Well, ok, it sort of is. I mean, come on, we had the release of the new Hearthstone adventure AND a new season in D3 in the last two weeks.

Speaking of which, obligatory rainbow shot:

Yes, I know it’s dark. Apparently she was there at night? I dunno. Anyhow … I made a Crusader this time. I’m going back and forth each season between melee and ranged. Season 1 was barbarian, 2 was demon hunter, so this one had to be either crusader or monk.

Also, what IS it about this silly game that makes it so addictive? I mean, it’s grinding the same thing over and over. Oh sure, there are several different kinds of bounties, and the maps for the rifts are never the same twice. They add new things every season too, like a new type of bounty and several new kinds of treasure goblins, not to mention the new legendaries. But it’s still the same, and I still keep coming back. There’s just something about the mindless slaying of demons and the piles of loot exploding out of them.

As for WoW, the new pet got me to participate in Noblegarden. At least for a couple of hours. I picked up eggs on Oranis, the only one of my three mages who did not have the Polymorph: Rabbit spell yet. I’m a lazy egg collector; I don’t race around town, I park myself in a spot where I can pick up three different spawn points without ever moving my character. Bloodhoof Village was very busy, so I teleported over to UC and flew to Brill. I actually have always preferred picking them up in Brill anyway. So I got my spot and sat there watching tv and picking up chocolates. It was actually quite relaxing. Then I hopped on over to UC with my flower basket in tow.

My Valentines

February 16, 2015

I hope you all had a good Valentine’s Day. The weather here wasn’t exactly agreeable, so I spent part of mine digging my driveway out again. But it could be worse, at least I got to spend the day with my two favorite boys.

Oh yeah, also, the Crown Chemical Co. can go jump in a lake on their Big Love Rocket. Seriously, I understand wanting to have a mount be rare but to give it such a low drop rate AND allow you only a dozen or so chances to get it each year … they really need to re-evaluate that. Even something like having them show up on the BMAH once in awhile would be … well ok, it wouldn’t help ME any, considering how much people would bid on it, but at least it would be something.

Grumble, Grumble

November 3, 2014

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad they are adding things to the holidays. But this Contender suit thing for Day of the Dead is not my cup of tea. I logged on and bought one … then when I realized that I have to duel other people who are wearing the suits in order to get the achievement I said ‘screw this’ and logged back off. Sure, at some point a friend will need the achievement too and want to trade duels. (I probably should have bought one on Alliance too just in case … oops.) But I don’t care enough about random achievement points to bother with it until then.

In other news … I hadn’t taken the other obsession far enough yet, so I bought a print of Khmelnytsky to hang on my wall. Now he watches over my campaign for Cossack domination.

I walked into the main hall at Chernigov the other day and was greeted by this large gathering of Cossack colonels. Someone’s city is going to be in big trouble when this group shows up to start a siege.
