Pets and Fun

November 10, 2016

What a great week last week to have the pet battle bonus event. I managed to pick up and level 3 of the 4 new falcosaur pets, plus some others that will make some of the world quest achievements easier. Why only 3 and not all 4?

PSA Make sure your pet journal is not capped when you go to get these. I found and fed the Orphaned Sharptalon, but my journal was maxed so he wasn’t added to it. ‘No sweat,’ I said to myself, ‘I’ll just cage some of these dups I’m sitting on and try again.’ Yes, well … because of they way they did it, where it goes right into your journal instead of into your bag, means that once it’s done, it’s done, the quest to obtain it is complete and if your journal is full you are SoL. The only way around it is to do it on another character. SO .. I guess getting another alt to 110 moves up my priority list. I have a couple at 106 so it won’t take too much, I just need time to do it.

One of my favorite world quests is the one in Highmountain where you turn into a creature and get back at the hunters. The cat is plenty fun, but my favorite is getting to be a moose and butting them into oblivion with my antlers.

Also fun was this new transformation when getting tricked at Hallow’s End. I didn’t go out of my way this year but the characters that were in Dalaran hit the one in the Legerdemain. Look out peeps, this spider’s got a gun!

Also, that Kosumuth thing is up this week. I’m still clicking orbs, and I think once I finish that I have to go kill him inside Eye of Azshara to unlock the world quest. I’m not quite sure how to accomplish that because I’ve only done dungeons through LFD. Time to do some research.

Happy Hallow’s End

Whoa, look, two WoW posts in one week!

I did finish up getting my other kitty.

Last night I queued up for UBRS but five minutes into the 20 minute queue I decided I could find something better to do than wait. So I sent Juna to Nagrand.

I looked for Banthar but then decided to look on Petopia first and figure out which skin I wanted. I decided the dark chocolate ones were most to my liking.

That was much easier than stealing a quest mob that people are trying to kill. Yes, with CRZ, there were plenty of people out there questing. I don’t think I will ever like CRZ. Unfortunately, when I looked at the talbuk skins, I decided that Bach’lor was definitely the one I wanted, so … sorry little human paladin who seemed to be also looking for him. I got what I wanted and won’t be back so good luck on your quest.

I went back to the Shrine to deposit some of my pets in the stable, and this other Tauren huntress was standing on the platform with her Bach’lor, so I stood next to her for awhile and got a screenshot.

The other new pet family is hydras, but since I’ve had the ghost hydra Spirit of Atha since back in Wrath when it was briefly tamable, I felt no need to go get another.

Gimme Pets!

October 24, 2014

Yup. All it takes to get me to play again is new pets.

Tuesday night, Madorsa decided she wasn’t getting candies fast enough with dailies and Horseman kills, so she raided candy buckets in Eastern Kingdoms. The end result:

I didn’t bother trying to decide which one to get. I realized that since it had only taken three or four days to get the first one, I could pick up another character and get the other one long before the holiday is over … and possibly without getting too bored. So last night, I decided that Vozzkaz could start on the holiday after she finished her invasion questline. She had killed the last quest dude and was killing one last orc on the way out of the door of Okrill’on, and he dropped this:

Well, that made for a good week! On top of it all, I got a mythic Siegecrafter Blackfuse kill on Tuesday night as well. When I logged over to Van to do his invasion quests, they asked if I could come fill a spot to zerg him because even my craptastic dps would help. Of course, I forgot to get a screenshot but oh well.

Stupid Buggy Fight

October 21, 2014

So yeah, I am *trying* to collect at least one of the new pets from Hallow’s End. I figure if I only get one, that will give me some incentive to actually do the holiday again next year. This would be much less annoying if the Headless Horseman fight didn’t randomly d/c the entire group half the time. Which wouldn’t be so bad if not for the fact that when you come back on, it zones you into the regular dungeon, not the holiday version, so there’s no horseman and you are SOL and have to either drop and take a debuff, or clear the place and re-queue. Seriously, Blizz … this better get fixed in today’s maintenance.

I’ve also been running a different character through the invasion quests each day, partly to hoard starlettes and partly hoping a bronze whelpling will drop. Gear upgrades are just a bonus for me, not an incentive.

Ok, two tiny paragraphs hardly make a post, so … how about a Crimean Tatar lesson?

Let’s start with Yashlav-bey.

mb106

A Bey is a chieftain or leader of a tribal clan. So our guy here is chief of the Yashlav clan. What his actual name is, doesn’t matter.

Now a mirza, on the other hand, like Mirza Davletshi here, is a high noble or prince. They tended to have large amounts of wealth and were most often descended from royalty.

mb105

Strangely enough, Davletshi did not lose his horse in this battle … he never had one. It seems he prefers to walk, which is … damn strange. I mean, with Anton it made sense, because he was carrying a huge musket that can’t be used on horseback, but this guy? I mean really, wtf? You’re a Tatar! That’s almost synonymous with horseman, isn’t it?

Remember Mirza Divey, who had been in my prison in Kezlev Fortress for well over a year?

mb107

Yup, I was shocked too when he decided to join us after finally gaining his freedom. I am hoping we can actually become friends now.
