…Nine, Ten, Go Fish!

October 9, 2017

Well, another Darkmoon Faire has come and gone and I’m still a couple hundred tickets short of the dirigible mount. But hey, it also means another week of carousel buffs! I made the most of it. Between that and two or three invasions at the right times during the week, I managed to get two more classes to max level.

Kalyon hit it first on the invasion in Val’sharah.

Now I just have to max out all of his weapons so I can get pets! Fortunately, that is pretty easy now since you automagically get the AK levels when you ding.

Kriann didn’t quite get there on the invasions, but she was SOOO CLOSE that I decided to go ahead and do some profession quests that she needed to work on. She was finishing up an inscription quest in Felblaze Ingress when she dinged.

That was all on Saturday. Yesterday though I wasn’t feeling very well, and didn’t have the energy for running around, questing, even swapping characters seemed like work. So I logged onto Oranis, joined a Conjurer Margoss fishing raid, and settled in to grind rep and watch football.

Not gonna lie, it took several hours even in a group. The size varied from only 4 or 5 of us to around 20 as people came and went throughout the day. I took a couple of breaks myself, for eating and just moving around. But I got it done and collected the two toys, two pets, and the mount. As a bonus, one of the toys put me at 300 so I earned the mount that comes with that achievement as well! Now I just have what, 5 new fishing dudes to grind rep with? *sigh*

As for the last two classes I need to level, the monk and demon hunter are both 109, so it won’t be long.

All Hail the Legion App

September 20, 2016

Last week I had only four characters (hunter, mage, rogue, druid) who had their order hall missions unlocked. That was pretty manageable even without the app. This weekend though I got busy and opened up a few more. I now have 9 characters running missions, which would totally be a drag without the app. I added another mage, a shaman, a warrior, and both priests to the list. Hmm … where are my paladins and death knights?? I need to get on that.

Rozjin and Vozzkaz both went to Highmountain. Arcane felt fine to me, I had no problems. Maybe not as much fun as fire, but certainly more than adequate at killing what needed to be killed. Same with enhance. And as a bonus, Moozy stays on your back when you ghost wolf! The quests take a lot longer when you keep stopping for screenshots though.

Sanbec went to Stormheim. He had less trouble with things than the elemental shaman who has also done part of the quests there. Maybe just because he was my most played character last xpac and I’m less familiar with shaman, maybe because fury warriors are just awesome (even though arms seems to be recommended again as the leveling spec); who knows? So I have no complaints with the class. I do have a complaint about Stormheim, however. In every other zone that I’ve been in, there is a place to bind your hearthstone or a flight path at or near every quest area. In Stormheim I’ve only found one at the camp you’re dropped at after the opening scenario, then WAY over at the village that you go to after two other large blocs of questing. Like you literally do two of the three tests before you find a new place to bind. And with the way travel is in this zone, I really did not want to quit until I had either a new flight path or a new hearth to easily return. Now, it’s possible I’m an idiot and just missed an NPC somewhere along the way. But if not, then I am annoyed at this oversight in design.

Both priests went to Azsuna. I’ve spent more time in Azsuna than any other zone. I’m not entirely sure why I chose it as the starting zone for so many, but it’s so familiar now that I can just get in there, whip out the requisite quests to get to 101, and move on to another character.

After so many, I couldn’t bring myself to start on another though, so I went back to Oranis. He had an order hall campaign quest to return to Azshara even though he had moved on to Val’sharah, so he went back to work on that. Fortunately, part of it was in a bonus area that I hadn’t completed before leaving, so I got to finish that up. Then in the middle of the next part the DDoS attacks hit, so I had to log out and watch football for awhile. Because, you know, the fantasy gods wanted to make sure I saw Adrian Peterson being helped back to the locker room without putting weight on his knee. $#@%%^@

Then there was pirate day yesterday. I hear there was a new toy that could drop from a new boss shark there at Booty Bay. I didn’t even log in yesterday because it was the first night of bowling league. Hey, I have to at least pretend to exercise once in awhile! Hope some of you were able to get it. For me there’s always next year. 🙂

Four More Weapons

September 7, 2016

Moving on to the next four weapons that I collected over the weekend.

Fist of Ra-den

I’m sure I’m not the only who, when leveling through Pandaria, would have liked to give Li Li and Chen a lava burst to the face. Well, here’s your chance! Going back to the Temple of the White Tiger was appropriately silly and fun. While a great number of the other quests were very dark, this one is maybe a little too lighthearted, but hey, that’s the Pandaren for you.

The Warbreaker

Um … hey … wow. Whatever they did to arms, I’m liking it. Maybe even better than fury right now. And now I get why warriors are dropping out of the sky on Krasus’ Landing!

Blade of the Black Empire

Meh. Shadow hasn’t really changed that much but I’m not really feeling it. And I don’t care that much what the weapon is because it all looks the same in shadowform anyway.

The Dreadblades

Wow, my steath-fu without the extra stealthiness of subtlety is weak. The quest was full of piratey goodness though.

Four More Artifacts

September 2, 2016

I am making steady progress getting through my artifact weapon quests. I generally have about three hours to play in the evening, which is time enough to do two of them a night and take my time about it. So here are the ones I got over the last two nights.

Skull of the Man’ari

This was appropriately full of demons and fel. As for the fights, well … since I’m still just getting started with the changes to the demonology spec, I was glued to my soul shards and pet indicators, trying to get everything in and buffed, and most of the fights were over before I knew it and I was standing there going ‘uh …’

Fists of the Heavens

This was the first one I died on. When I ran back, Li Li had pretty much finished off the mobs that did it. Do you know how embarrassing it is to have that tiny little girl panda showing you up, especially when you’re supposed to be a Grand Master? I think I know who I’m choosing as my successor.

WoWScrnShot_083116_211533

There’s a pandaren in the cafe at the order hall that sings the most beautiful and haunting melody that I could stand there all day and just listen to him. Sadly though, for whatever reason, the monks’ order hall is not a rest area. I hope this is just a bug and it will be amended in a hotfix so that it will be like the others.

Blades of the Fallen Prince

Ok, wth? I mean, I used to main (ok fine co-main) DK and played all three specs, so I figured eh, frost DK, how hard can it be eh? Yeah I started on it Wednesday night and let me tell you, if you don’t know what you’re doing, which apparently I did not, you will have a hard time. I must have died a dozen times. I did make it to the final fight eventually, but it was clear that it wasn’t going to happen so I went to bed and spent part of yesterday studying up on my class.

I went back in last night with a couple of different talents and at least one ability on my bar that I had overlooked. (control undead is your friend!) I died exactly once. So .. yeah.

WoWScrnShot_090116_183225

BTW, that right there is my new desktop background, to celebrate my victory over not knowing how to DK anymore. :p

Seeing Bolvar, er, the Lich King again was both cool and sad. But not NEARLY as shocking as the quest that came after I returned to Acherus with my new blades. I don’t want to spoil too much, so all I will say is that the Lich King wants me to raise a new set of Four Horsemen to be my generals or lieutenants or whatever. His choice for the first horseman blew me away. Like, whoa. Suffice it to say, Kaly jumped quite a few spots on my ‘play this toon first’ list because I can’t wait to see where this storyline goes (which I assume is part of the order hall campaign.)

Doomhammer

Gggrrrrrrrrrrrrawr! My Tirion dies, and Thrall goes off (again) to ‘find himself’? Are you kidding me???

Thrall aside, it was pretty cool seeing all of the other shaman we have quested with in the past. Nobundo, Rehgar, Erunak, etc. And best of all, I got to go back to one of my favourite zones of all time, with one of my very favourite NPCs because come on, who is more badass than Stormcaller Mylra?

WoWScrnShot_090116_203233

This questline was the most fun so far, just because I love Deepholm so much. I got Pebble out while I was there so he could see his old home and hang out a bit. There was a lot more to kill for this than some of the other quests but I really enjoyed it. I’m liking enhancement a lot and will probably play her some more.

WoWScrnShot_090116_202931

I’ll see how many I can get through this weekend. I’ll probably have to break them up into multiple posts next week. I still have 3 mages, 2 druids, the other DK (or 2, but maybe not because I don’t think Kirgra has a 2H in her bags. I might just have Arelin do the blood one, too), 2 priests … I think that’s it. OH! And 2 rogues. And 2 warriors. So yeah … it may be awhile before I do any actual questing, but I’m ok with that. I mean seriously, we’re only 3 days into the expansion, there will be many many more. 🙂
