Five Weapon Friday

September 9, 2016

Ok, this is the last of the weapons that I got LAST weekend! This weekend I will actually get to quest in the world so next week’s posts will be something different.

Aluneth

Ah, the Nexus. I do have to agree with others who said this was the hardest mage quest, but I only died on the final boss, and only once. Piece of cake compared to frost DK. Roz’s hair might be due for a recolor though, to match his return to arcane (and his transmog!).

Light’s Wrath

Oh, so once wasn’t enough, I have to save Azuregos again?? But I just DID that! Ok fine. Easier the second time through, whether from learning or class I can’t say. Disc is naturally a bit slower than arcane, but of course has the advantage of survivability. My only real kvetch is the lack of a silence but meh, I’ll deal with it. I’m sure shadow is better at killing, but Rags wants to show off his purty robes.

Fangs of the Devourer

Ok, wait a minute. How is it that I thought sub had become boring? zomgsomuchfun! I seriously had as much fun on this as I do on outlaw. So glad now that I have two rogues so I can mess around with both. Despite not having actually played sub since before the class changes, I *almost* got through without a single death. I mean like I only had to poke the final boss once after coming back from death to finish her off. And then at the end after returning to the hall, someone unexpected shows up. Wait a minute, that didn’t happen in the outlaw one! So cool.

The Fangs of Ashamane

Ok I think I have enough fangs in this post now to tear my way through the Brokened Isles and back. Fun quest full of druidy lore and scenery. Some things I’m not very good at as I haven’t really done cat since … Jade Forest? No, a couple of zones past that, she had the opening ‘kill Osul’ quests for Townlong in her log when the invasions hit. So yeah I got my butt kicked once learning how close I can stealth to stuff but otherwise not a big deal. The screenshot doesn’t come out very well though because of the darkness and the angle. Oh well.

The Warswords of Valor

Ok, for some reason I thought these were going to be 1H, but they are actually big old 2H. TG4evah! Sorry to you fans of SMF, reroll rogue or frost DK.

Anyway … Fury is a little bit different than before. Bloodthirst doesn’t really heal for much and … dude, I actually used bandages. For reals. That doesn’t mean it’s not fun, because it is! It’s just not all that durable anymore, which, I mean honestly, isn’t that the whole idea of a berserking type of fighter? Take damage but dish out more than you get? So yeah, thematically it makes sense. I ran all over Tanaan last xpac killing whatever I met and it was just insane because I almost couldn’t die. Fury warriors were spoiled and OP and that’s pretty much how he ended up my main. So yeah, I have to applaud the changes right now. Maybe later I will change my mind once I start the real questing, but for now, I’m just gonna be positive and roll with it.

So that’s a wrap. I still need to get my two DH going, and my third DK, but I’m going to work on leveling what I’ve got for now. I’ve sent like 5 characters to their first zone, none of which was Highmountain, and gained all of two levels so far, so I have TONS of stuff to look forward to!

Alt Week: Priest

October 4, 2013

I’ve dabbled a bit with priests. Enough that I had two at max level in Cata.

Ragle

WoWScrnShot_100313_210851

Rags was the first. He was actually one of the first four characters I rolled, but he was a belf then. He got transferred over when I went to Winterhoof to play Alliance, and got his name changed to be anti-Elgar. I made him look just like Elgar, too.

Elgar, of course, was the GM of the Alliance guild Crits And Giggles, and is still one of my best friends ever.

He messed around with both healing specs, but shadow is really his thing. I mean, there’s nothing *wrong* with priest healing, and I enjoyed both specs. It just never really gelled for me the way paladin did though.

He’s an engineer, so he has fun with his transporter malfunctions.

And he also did one thing no other priest will be able to do again … he got his Benediction/Anathema.

Dyle

Dyle was rolled to see the new stuff in Tirisfal, Silverpine, and Hillsbrad after the Cata revamp. That project failed miserably when Arv rolled a goblin warrior named Dizzee.

Dizzee and Dyle ran dungeons together all the way up to Northrend, at which point Arv sprinted past me and I stalled out, leaving the old boy to rot in Dalaran for quite some time. But he eventually got leveled. I think he tried to heal a heroic once, but got a terrible group in Stonecore who blamed him when they overpulled and had stuff running everywhere uncontrollably, so he has never healed since then. Now he just goes to the Faire …

although he has leveled up to 87 so he could park at the shrine.

WoWScrnShot_100313_211923

Since he’s 87 he will probably be the priest that gets to 90.

I also have a lowbie, Osler, over on Kargath. He’s around 26.

That’s it for priest week!

Ooooops!!

September 7, 2012

I’ve been meaning to get this post up all week. I actually finally found time to write it yesterday … and then I couldn’t find the screenshots. I thought I forgot to send them to myself. Then last night before bed when I went to send them again, I found them. /fayle

I’ve been really enjoying the account-wide pets, mounts, and achievements. Titles on my lowbies? Yes please! Last night I dug the craptastic starter daggers out of the bank and sent Bloodsail Admiral Wega off to level. What? She has pages of mounts that she wants to ride. She made it to 10 … in her lovely black dress. Who needs armor when ambush takes at least half of each mob’s health, sometimes even one-shots them? (With white daggers … it’s a guaranteed one-shot with any heirlooms at all)

Is there anything cuter than a dwarf chick on a Deathcharger?

Yeah, Wega can’t wait to get her hands on that horse.

Poor Karius, it’s been so long since I paid attention to him … longer than I realized! I mean really … look …

Yes, that glowy shield around him is leftover from Children’s Week … told you it had been awhile. I had fun with his glyphs. The little bitty water elemental is from Conjure Familiar, and of course the shapeshift is some other glyph that lets you ‘look like someone else’ for something like 5 minutes. I was expecting it to be like the potion of illusion … obviously it’s not, as you have no choice in what you end up looking like. But it’s super fun!

Several toons went digging this week. I was very VERY excited to find that you now get 6 digs per site rather than only 3. That makes it go much quicker since you are getting twice as much done without having to travel.

Oh, and here is the horse in shadowform.

Ok, I’ve gotta get back to work. Happy Friday!

Days Behind

August 2, 2012

Yes, this happened on Saturday. Yes, I’m finally posting it on Thursday. Wut?? I hate summer. >.<

Laid Back Raid for the week was Alliance Onyxia. I drug Rev and Ana along so I didn't have to tank, and also talked Addoe and Shady into coming. Toss in a Bocat for some real shadow priesting to go along with me posing as one, plus JD, Mrs. JD, Mavgret, and Dragonray, and that ensured that it took longer to get everyone there than it did to kill the dragon.

Yes, you are seeing that right. 6 Druids, 3 Priests … and Addoe.

So after that a couple people left, but most of us went and did OS3D as well. I swapped to Kerick for better DPS, not that I really *needed* to but … meh. And then Mavgret wanted to do BWL, so Rev swapped to his hunter and I got out my warrior who dearly wants an Ashkandi and Bocat stayed with us and we went and cleared that out, too. Good times.

Ok I’m going back to work now. Bleh.
