Eight

April 11, 2016

With the Faire around last week, I figured it would be a good idea to get some more leveling done.  Saturday afternoon I finished up with Madorsa.

That makes 8 classes to level 100. Only druid, monk, and priest to go.

Oh. Yeah. You’re probably wondering how I skipped from 6 to 8, eh? Yeah, I boosted Kriann, the dwarf shaman, with the Legion pre-order. I didn’t document it because, well, it’s a boost. I didn’t level her. Well, I did, to 68, but not the rest of the way. So, she counts, but she doesn’t, ya know?

In the course of her adventures in Nagrand, Madorsa ran across Luk’hok, a rare elite elekk that drops a mount, the Mottled Meadowstomper. Now, he’s level 100 and she, at the time, is 98. Yes, I know, warlock OP etc etc but I didn’t even bother. I mean really, I have 7 other classes at max level right? Ok, 4 if we’re only talking about the server group that she is on, but still … I trotted Van out there instead.

I am totally out of practice with him, but I remembered enough to kill the thing without getting myself killed. So, new and totally unexpected mount!

Aside from all that, I spent yesterday working on my seasonal character in D3 since the season ends … crap, Friday. I don’t think I will be completing chapter 4. First off, in order to even get into my set dungeon, I had to dink around with finding the crimson beta drivers for my ‘legacy’ AMD video card so that the game won’t crash if I try to visit the Desolate Sands. Yeah. Next time I’m buying Nvidia. I might be able to get to Greater Rift level 20 and kill Siegebreaker Assault Beast on T4 by then, but I have to do some research on the set dungeon. That might be too much. Still, for a casual player, I’m happy just to have completed my set. I just need the pants still to have all 7 pieces.

Remind me next season to start running rifts at 60 or so, so that I have a collection of greater shards ready for me when I hit 70. I’m behind now because I have to run 2 or 3 neph rifts to get a shard in between each greater rift. Gah.

Class 6 and Season 5

February 8, 2016

Yeah, I know, you thought the blog was dead, didn’t you? Well it mostly is,  but I figured I should at least post big things, traditions, ya know? Like Rainbow shots …

Yeah, that’s the ‘new’ wizard I made for season 5. I say ‘new’ in quotes because I used the new rebirth feature to restart my level 20-something wizard over. I think he’s twice that level now, somewhere in the 40s. I dunno, I haven’t played in a week. The Faire started yesterday so I did something else instead …

Yep, that’s Alestav the rogue finishing his leveling and getting my 6th class to level 100, joining Death Knight, Hunter, Mage, Paladin and Warrior as my finished classes. So I only have 4 to go. Ok 5 really, but one of them is going to get the level 100 boost that comes with Legion. Probably my level 69 dwarf shaman, although I am also considering the worgen druid who is level 40-something. It wouldn’t take long to level her to 60 so she could get the professions. I’m going with one of those because I also have two professions to get to 600, leatherworking and inscription, which would be appropriate for either one of them. I also have a level 59 human rogue who would have been a nice choice had I not already had Ales almost leveled.

I’m Flyyyyyyyyying

September 2, 2015

Of course, I don’t have a picture of it, because the only flying I got to do was from my garrison to my shipyard, since my fantasy football draft was last night. So here, have a shot of some old dragon bones instead.

WoWScrnShot_083015_150145

There are many things in this patch to go with the flying … new areas in Draenor only reachable by flight that feature rares who drop pets, badges to collect from Timewalking dungeons with new transmog items and mounts to buy, and … I dunno, some pvp thing. And supposedly some catch-up quests for bro stones and elemental thingamabobs, although I couldn’t find them last night, but I only looked inside my garrisons. Perhaps I have to visit Mr. Khadgar.

Last week was also a big week for other Blizzard games, with both the release of The Grand Tournament in Hearthstone, and the beginning of a new season in D3. There’s not a lot I can say about TGT because I didn’t want to pay $50 for a card back and some packs that I can buy with in-game gold. I honestly enjoy collecting my cards pack by pack rather than buying in bulk. It makes each one more special. Of course, that also means I don’t have many cards from the set to evaluate yet, although I *can* say that a Warhorse Trainer combined with Mukla’s Champion and Muster For Battle can quickly give you an army of pumped up Silver Hand Recruits to smash faces.

In D3 of course, I made my new seasonal hero as soon as it opened. I was going to make a wizard this time, but then I saw the new Witch Doctor legendary mojo, Henri’s Perquisition, which is, well, a cat! so I had to make a WD instead. Here he is by the rainbow, taking his place in history beside my other D3 characters.

And, for those of you who are actually interested, here is the team I drafted last night:

QBs: Ryan Tannehill, Andy Dalton
RBs: Frank Gore, Doug Martin, T.J. Yeldon, Giovani Bernard, Danny Woodhead
WRs: Randall Cobb, Jarvis Landry, Martavis Bryant, Allen Robinson, Eddie Royal
TEs: Rob Gronkowski, Tyler Eifert
K: Chandler Catanzaro
D: Pittsburgh

The Cow Level

May 19, 2015

I still log into WoW almost every day on at least one character. But I’m spending much more time elsewhere.

In D3 I got my seasonal Crusader Caryn to rank 23 so far. But then this anniversary thing happened. There are elite cows that leave behind a portal when they are killed that leads to a place known as Not The Cow Level.

Screenshot020

I read on the official forums that they do not spawn in rifts, so I set Caryn aside and picked up my level 63 Barbarian Olenka who I had started back in season 1. I figured I could send her to level on some bounties AND find the cow level at the same time.

Once inside, the place was full of bipedal bovines wielding polearms or halberds. There are tons of treasure chests, a quest/event, and even The Cow Queen.

Screenshot023

This cow, however, is NOT the right one. I just thought it was funny so I had to screenshot her.

Screenshot024

After Olenka hit 70, I switched over to Debbie the Demon Hunter, who was level 52. She was on the last stage of Act V in the Campaign, so I went ahead and finished that so I could get the achievements for all of the conversations with Halissa and also for finishing Act V with a Demon Hunter. Then she went to bounties, too, and hit 70 last night.

I am not sure what I will do next. Then next character on my list is Vanethos the Crusader. I do not remember where he is in the campaign at the moment, but he needs to finish it for the achievements. I think by the time that is done though, the anniversary will be over, so I may just go back to grinding rifts on Caryn.
