New (old) Mounts!

December 17, 2014

Sorry if I freaked people out yesterday. It seems like it came out sounding like a big deal when it wasn’t. Van moved to the new guild last night and omg, so many people online! That will be strange for awhile. I tend more towards doing things on my own, so it’s good for me to be in a bigger guild like that. I can always play on an alt when I need to be alone, after all.

A few days ago, I figured I would give another try at Malygos. He’s dropped the blue drake for me (even though I had already bought one on the BMAH) but hadn’t dropped the azure yet. I wasn’t expecting it at all, so I almost didn’t notice when it dropped into my bags.

I think this one and the twilight drake are my favorites for that drake model.

Then, a couple of days later, Van got the rare follower mission that awards the old Halaa battle and research tokens. It gives 100 battle and 40 research, so … enough to buy either one of the dark talbuk mounts. The mission only takes an hour, so before long he was headed out to old Outland to collect his prize. Problem … so were a bunch of other people. Now, this in itself wouldn’t be an issue, I mean, Horde outnumbered the Alliance there so the pvp was handled easily. Horde took over Halaa and the guards and vendors spawned. Herein lay the issue, however … the vendor is level, I dunno, 68 or 69. Meaning, a stealthed Alliance druid could moonfire her as soon as she spawned and prevent us all from making our purchases. Srsly, Blizz? You didn’t think this through all the way, did you? I will never understand the satisfaction people get from intentionally being dicks to others. But they do. That druid left eventually, and then a non-flagged paladin used her Gamon toy to turn into a tauren and stand on top of the vendor’s spawn point on a mammoth. Nice try but at least that one didn’t prevent us from obtaining our objective.

I’ve also tried going back to the Timeless Isle to visit Huolon and also took a tour of Pandaria looking for warbringers. Unfortunately, Blizz in all their wisdom made Pandaria, including the Timeless Isle, a cross realm zone. So yeah, the warbringers were heavily camped. Guess I’ll have to wait awhile on those … again.

P.S. Due to Winter Veil festivities, it will probably be a couple of weeks, next year even, before the next post.

Ding! Ding!

December 16, 2014

A couple of level-ups to show off today.

First, my human warrior Sanbec became my second character to hit max level. He promptly upgraded his garrison of course and got his menagerie set up so that he could have pets wandering around just like Van does.

Speaking of pets, my adorable Elekk Plushie also dinged max level recently. I still have a ton of trainers to beat with her on the team, which is going to require leveling a few of my other pets first, but that’s ok, there’s plenty of time.

In other news, I received a bit of a shock last night when I logged on … I was the only person online in the guild. Say what? It’s raid night, where is everybody! Then I checked the guild message of the day. Oh. I see. The guild had been doing a joint mythic team with another guild. Obviously, if you’ve ever tried to do this you know how inconvenient it is to not have everyone in the same guild. I mean, it’s doable, but it’s just so much simpler when everyone is together in one. Rather than choose between the two existing guilds, they created a new guild for the raiding team. Makes perfect sense, but I knew it would mean the regular guild would be much quieter and eventually the alts that hadn’t moved already would also go. So for now, I moved back into my own guild. Might as well have access to my guild bank, right? Maybe later I will move into the new guild but I couldn’t really ask while they were raiding so I will wait until a non-raid night when people are available to chat.

More Alliance Questing

December 10, 2014

Just a couple more shots from Sanbec’s quest logs.

Goblins sure have some crazy ways of travelling.

WoWScrnShot_120514_230019

Since his barracks reached level 2, he’s been taking that silly dwarf Delvar with him on his travels. And because I enjoy matching the mounts, he’s been riding around on the crimson deathcharger.

In other news that does not include screenshots, Van did LFR last night. It was quick and easy and completely painless, other than the long queue. I’ve pretty much decided that I’d take long queues over the stress of healing though. I am content being a nameless, faceless dps. He also finished leveling the Plushie to 25.

Plushie!!!!!!!

December 9, 2014

I finally got enough hexweave to make my elekk plushie. Like everything else in WoD, I derped around and sometimes trapped wolves for fur to make work orders for hexweave, not really making it a focus more of a ‘oh I should ….’ type thing. But last night I got enough so Juna sewed one together real quick.

Yes, my tauren huntress is a tailor. What? She looks awesome on her flying carpets.

The plushie is super adorable .. even Mr. Clefthoof wanted to cuddle with her.

WoWScrnShot_120814_221514

Making it was really the only part Juna had to do, though. She still has her own leveling to work on. So I logged back over to Van, who was sitting on a stack of pet charms. He bought a battle stone to upgrade her from common to rare. Then he headed out to start leveling her. We took on the two trainers in Winterspring and outside of Karazhan, all of the old Outland trainers, and the trainer in Hyjal since I use the portal through there as a shortcut to Winterspring. By the end of that she was up to level 20 already! So it feels like it is going really fast, but of course the big adventure is definitely going to stall out soon. Besides the trainers getting much tougher, some of them are only available at certain times, like the two at the Darkmoon Faire and the ones in the Celestial Tournament. But I got a good start on it so I’m happy for now.
