Alt Week: Druid

August 30, 2013

Yeahhhhhhh …this is one of the few classes I have never gotten to max level. Which is strange, really. I love the shapeshifting, I love the ability to play any role … I really need to get on this and finish one. I have two, which is no surprise since I’ve played many hours on both factions and have to have one of each class on each side.

Oh the Horde side we have Arenna at level 29.

Um .. if you click that armory link you will see that she is half naked. Adryen sort of stole her heirlooms. She mostly lounges around, going to DMF once a month, although she did quest through Hillsbrad when I got the urge to see the zone. I may send her to the Cape of Stranglethorn one of these days since I haven’t done that zone yet. Picking flowers though is really her thing.

On the Alliance side we have Kaladis at level 41.

Ugh .. that’s a really old shot. I should have logged in and taken a new one. She’s actually a very lovely Worgen lady, which you can see on her armory page. She went feral once Arv abandoned our leveling project. She spent a good 20 levels following his various lowbie alts around dungeons, while I tried to wrap my head around the whole healing with HoTs thing. She spends most of her time now standing around Stormwind, admiring her stag form. I don’t even take her to the Faire. Poor girl.

I’m going to level one or both of them someday. Honest!

That’s all it took to get Lei Shen down.

Pretty much everyone else in the raid started playing Final Fantasy this week. I got my Hearthstone beta key late yesterday afternoon. We all logged on 5 minutes before raid time and unanimously agreed … Let’s get this bitch down so we can all go back to our new games. I don’t think there was a single person in the raid who didn’t have something else they’d rather be doing. This does NOT mean WoW has done something wrong or is dying or any other negative thing you can come up with. Obviously we cared enough to still want to kill him.

Adoe messed up the first pull. At least, he’s the one who said ‘we screwed the pooch on purple’ just before a herd of adds came stampeding over to my quadrant, so I’m going to go ahead and blame him. The second pull was smooth and we were out of there. Being the final boss, however, people did manage to stand in line for a decent screenshot first.

Left to Right: Zugzuug, Zarm standing in Lei Shen’s body, Arvash, Sorak, Vanicus, Tyledres, Liyhe, Wok, and Shadeey.

Ok, everyone except Adoe. I think he’s on the other side of Shadeey just out of the picture. Sorry, dis photo be a No Troll Zone mon.

Alt Week: DK

August 23, 2013

Late to the party here, but since this sounds like a fun project, I think I’ll join in! Most of you probably already know if you read other blogs, but World of Lae has proposed celebrating our alts one class at a time for 11 weeks, and this first week is DK!

This is a fun one for me because DK is one of my favorite classes.

I wasted no time getting into DKs, making my first one the first day they came out, Arelin.

He was the first character I ever tanked on, clearing Naxx in Wrath, which was also the first raid tier I participated in. Then I … switched to playing Alliance for the rest of that expansion. But Shadow Rising was there on the horizon, dragging my troll mage through ICC right before Cata hit, and it wasn’t long into Cata before I was raiding on both sides. Thus, Arelin ended up tanking part of that first tier, including all of Bastion of Twilight, while I leveled my new main paladin on the side. Sadly, out of the DKs I will be talking about here today, he is the only one still stuck at 85.

On the Alliance side of things we have Kalyon.

He was originally a female Draenei but … I dunno, I just can’t play them. He made it to Northrend before I sent him to the surgeon and got him a makeover. He was the co-main throughout the last two tiers of Wrath, doing both tanking and DPS duties in both 10 and 25 man groups. His crowning achievement though, and still my best memory and most important event in my time in WoW, was tanking the guild’s first ever Lich King kill. He is and will forever be Kalyon the Kingslayer. I may be a healer now, but nothing will ever compare to the feeling of going toe-to-toe with the Lich King himself and coming out victorious after so many grueling months in ICC.

Last we have Kirgra.

Like Kaly, she isn’t the same as when she started out. But after a realm transfer, I decided that male troll wasn’t right for her, she needed a new start. So she became a female orc, which gave me an excuse to wear the slut plate that I’d been saving in the bank since Nagrand. She hasn’t done much, really, other than provide money, heirlooms, and mats to my army of alts on Kargath.

I have 5 level 90’s right now and 2 of them are DKs so … it’s pretty safe to say that I like playing the class. ^.^

Terrific Trio

August 21, 2013

Well, that part didn’t take long at all. Once I switched to fire, I stopped watching the xp bar and started having fun. I don’t believe things actually died faster, it just seemed like it since I was enjoying it.

Yes that is my buddy Kovok covering my head in the shot. hehe.

So, that was the easy part. Now for the hard part. The two scenarios to unlock the Barrens questline, which I will coerce guildies into helping with, and then the Barrens stuff itself, which will be faster with help but can be done solo if I am patient.
