Ding 100

November 18, 2014

Yeah, so, WoD is so engaging that I didn’t even get a shot of Van dinging 100 because I was so caught up in the quest text. So I give you a shot of him and his girlfriend Vivianne instead.

Our server is low enough population that it wasn’t affected by queues, although of course it was still affected by the lag and other issues that happened. I was quite surprised by how fast the leveling actually went, but it’s not a bad thing. I mean, it did take me four days of 8 to 12 hours of playtime each day. And I finished dang near everything in Frostfire Ridge, maxed my archaeology, and collected enough pets to get the 600 unique pets achievement. So I wasn’t straight-up focusing on efficient leveling at all.

Things that I like about WoD …

The rare mobs that drop garrison resources and other items are very cool. That fact that everyone who helps kill it gets loot is cool. Personalized loot is so very cool. And if you get there too late, well, they respawn fast.

Randomly upgraded quest rewards and drops. So awesome.

Riding. Yes, I said it. I picked out a couple of favorite horses to put on my bar, and then changed one of them out for the ocher bone pony once Vivi started travelling with me so we would match. Flying is good and all, but I am thoroughly enjoying being grounded. I’m sure I’m in the minority here but so be it.

Garrisons. I love collecting followers. I love sending them out on missions. I love visiting them at my garrison.

I love all of these things so much that they make me want to level more characters so that they, too, can collect rare mob kills, and gear upgrades, and followers. So I’ve already gotten my second garrison up and running. Yeah … and I haven’t even started an Alliance one yet, either! I will have to force myself to play one of my newly uglified humans.

I haven’t really put any effort into professions yet (aside from archaeology, which they made EVEN EASIER) so I have no comment on those right now.

It Goes To 11

Well, that’s it. Finally there. All eleven classes at max level.

There were so many lockboxes in my guild bank that I couldn’t take it anymore, so over the last couple of evenings I took Al out questing. As always, he had a grand time with his Glyph of Disguise. He turned into mantid …

WoWScrnShot_052814_220915

and also into saurok. Apparently the disguise didn’t fool Kovok, though. Perhaps it was the smell … I’m sure Forsaken and saurok both smell bad, but not the same kind of bad.

The first thing I did was buy flying for him because, well, if I do anything at all other than open lockboxes, he’s going to want to fly. He nearly made back as much as he spent when he opened all of those boxes, though. Then I had Oranis dig out some Timeless gear to send him. Hmm … that helm looked awesome on a femtaur druid but on him? yeah … no. Might have to spend some of his lockbox gold on transmog.

Side topic … the Azeroth Choppers bikes are done! What did you all think? I loved the shine and polish of the Alliance bike … but those tank treads. I’m sorry, but tank treads are not Alliance. I totally would have voted for that bike if it had wheels with some shiny silver spokes. They could have done some aluminum and bronze to compliment the awesome metalwork on the rest of the bike and I would have blown the dust off my Alliance just to ride it. Oh well. Now, a trike with tank treads on the back and an oversized front tire SCREAMS Horde. I’m fond of trikes anyway so … yeah. It’s not pretty but then, it’s not supposed to be. It is, however, badass. Van can’t wait to get his hands on it.

Ten

Yeah, so … enhance is fun. Not as much fun as balance but … I get to have spirit raptors! Really, my main complaint is that she sucks, I mean really sucks, at aoe.

She was at 98% when she finished turning in quests in the Dread Wastes, so rather than start the next sequence there, she went back to Halfhill to harvest scallions for Gina.

I really like the mail Timeless Isle armor set. It looked great on my female tauren, and it looks just as awesome on a female troll.

WoWScrnShot_042714_111321

So naturally she headed to the Isle to see how she would do there. She is wielding two very crappy green fist weapons, and has green rings, trinkets, and neck. Still, the pink birds were easy enough.

All that’s left now for classes is my rogue, who is 87 so it won’t be long.

Nine

April 21, 2014

That’s right, only two more classes to go.

Hunie became the ninth class to max level on Saturday, dinging in the Dread Wastes as all of my characters do.

WoWScrnShot_041914_120655

I know I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating. Maybe it’s just me having a natural feel for the spec, I don’t know, but I’ve found balance druid to be very durable. Scrapes that would have killed any of my other non-plate characters, she comes out of, bleeding but alive.

That being said, she didn’t really try to take on anything serious on the Timeless Isle, although she did go and complete the introductory quests there.

WoWScrnShot_041914_130806

The cannonballs from Dread Ship Vazuvius will still kill you even if you do nothing but run circles around the ship casting moonfire, FYI.

The other two aren’t far behind. Vozzkaz visited Zouchin Province yesterday and is ready to move on to Townlong Steppes. Ales didn’t get as far, but he did get through some of Kun-Lai and set his hearth at the Shrine. He also had more fun with his Glyph of Disguise.

WoWScrnShot_041914_201818

That’s all for today. Happy Dyngus Day!
