Dynamic Duo

March 12, 2013

Yes, it’s actually my third 90, but the first two were both paladins, so …

WoWScrnShot_031013_191313

So … you’ve just dinged 90 and have an ilevel of 438 … what do you do next?

A. get some crafted gear/buy gear with the points you have saved up already
B. do dailies and/or finish questing in Dread Wastes for gear and points
C. run some scenarios/heroics for gear and points

Meh. I’m a blood DK, I dun need no gear! Isle of Giants here I come!

Yes .. really. I sent him straight off to farm bones. Where Van with a 490+ ilevel had to use all CD just to kill a single direhorn hatchling, Kaly was at full health when his died. Sure, it took forever, but I was never at any point in danger of dying. I think I’ll try pulling two next time just for the hell of it.

My dino project was cut short by LBR time though. Since I was already on Kaly I just took him. Even though there were only four of us, we dispatched TotC in no time and decided to hit up Naxx and AQ for pets again. I’d been looking for a weapon to match Kaly’s T10 mog for a screenshot I have planned, and C’thun was nice enough to drop this fancy axe with an eyeball in the center that actually opens and closes.

Dang, I need to level a third class for the next achievement, but I was working on another DK … bah.

Double Agent

November 12, 2012

So, now that Van is past the Golden Lotus to revered grind, he’s been having a little more fun with dailies. He doesn’t get bored because he rotates them. You see, the August Celestials have four different quest hubs, one at each of the temples. So, he bases what dailies he does on which hub the Celestials want him to defend. If it’s at Cradle of Chi-Ji he does Anglers. If it’s at Temple of the Jade Serpent, he does Cloud Serpent. If it’s at Niuzao, he does Shado-Pan. If it’s at White Tiger, he does Klaxxi. And if it’s at the same place two days in a row, he’ll do Golden Lotus instead. So yeah … sure it’s slow, but it keeps it halfway interesting.

So yesterday after he did his stuff in the Jade Forest, I decided I wanted more to do. So I said, yeah, it’s time Kerick got to 90 and started dailies. So I logged him on … oh boy, he has a whopping 2% into level 89. But full rest xp. So after harvesting his measly four crops, he headed to the Spine to get his assignment into the Dread Wastes. O.MG. I mean, the quests weren’t hard. Ret survivability is pretty dang good (esp if you’re really a healer and care more about your health bar than your damage) and I make use of repentance and don’t overpull when I’m undergeared. But geez … Van was 90 when he went there, and the ability to fly really makes getting around a lot easier. But meh, I managed. Rescued a whole bunch of paragons and stuff and even did some dailies. Had fun with a leviathan, too.

By the time I only had the brewgarden hub left to do, he was sitting at 97%. Yay rest xp! But … I wasn’t feeling up to riding over there on my ground mount. I knew I could find a much better method for the ding and screenshot.

Zari, Fayle … this one’s for you!

And yes, after buying flying and doing Tillers stuff (omg I can pick up dark soil YAY) he did go and start on Golden Lotus. Now I just gotta get enough gear to go to the guild LFR on Saturday …

It Goes to Eleven

December 12, 2011

Hey, I talked to someone who has 17, so I’m still behind!

First some shots from the last day of leveling, because I <3 Deepholm.

OMG look … it’s Pebble!!

Once I had all the portals opened up and finished off Deepholm, I figured I’d queue specifically for Grim Batol, Lost City, and Halls of Origination, knowing there were quests to complete and gear upgrades I could get. GB went well but didn’t quite get me there, so the next one was Lost City .. and the quest turnins there did the trick.

Took a break after that to go kill Yogg with Crits, then once I came back over, Stunnah tanked my first couple of heroics for me. He was also chatting along in guild chat and vent at the same time, so we had a couple of not so pretty pulls. I purposely let him drop to something like 6k health before laying my hands on him. I joked ‘Why did I bother to queue with you instead of taking my chances on a random tank?’ :P Good times.

After that, I saw that CtA was up and was like .. hmmmmm … what the hell, why not! Got Halls of Origination. The dps were all ghosts … never a good sign. I ask where I need to go because it zoned me at the entrance and they obviously are farther than that. They were past the first boss, on the pull left of the elevator that includes one of the fire dudes. Tank with 139k health runs up, breaks both of the CC, and proceeds to get demolished, while the dps all choose a different target to hit. Tank drops. I wait until we’re back in front of the pull to re-queue us so that our new tank will appear where we are. This one is at least competent and we get through it, minus all optional bosses … although he did need on the spell sword at the end and won it over me with a roll of 8 to 6. Bitch!

CtA was still up, and it was definitely close to bedtime … but the chatter in vent was going strong and I was having fun. So I queued again. And got Grim Batol. Really? *sigh* Well, at least it wasn’t Deadmines. This time the tank was most excellent. I do enjoy getting good bears. (The HoO tanks were … yep, you guessed it … paladins of the Tauren variety.) The dps … notsomuch.  They managed to avoid killing the adds on Drahga.  The tank and I plus one dps managed to pull it off anyway. They managed to mostly avoid killing the adds on Erudax. Yeah, those adds heal the boss so … seriously, I have never seen a fail this huge on that fight. When the second set of adds came out … there was still an add up from the FIRST set. Tank gives instructions as we’re running back on how to do the fight. Second pull goes much better … boss is at 800k … and they decide to ignore an add and the boss heals back up to 4M. Tanks tells all the dps to GTFO … one of them listens and we get a lock to replace them. Third time is a charm.

Is it 5 yet? I wanna go home and run heroics!!!!11!1!

Ten

Not much else to say. Home. Still sick. But not too sick to play.

Yes, that’s right, same boss that Juna dinged on. Oh, and seeing that reminds me that I need to train still. Special thanks to Stunnah and his many tank alts for running an endless amount of dungeons with me. Now I just gotta respec, spend my JPs, and get sugar daddy Van to buy me bracers and boots.

Oh yeah, and remember how yesterday in the comments I said I was gonna ride Chewy since he got a Vial? Yeah, I didn’t even have to go find him, he came and found me. lol.

Hard to get a good shot when he’s doing corkscrews and making me dizzy. lol. And yes, that is Kalethos on him … I sorta kinda transferred him over to Firetree as well. We flew out to Auchindoun and headed to Auchenai Crypts, and when we zoned in, I was like .. omg dude, it let me in on heroic! I don’t know if that’s a glitch or … ? But it did, so we cleared it, and then figured what the hell, let’s do an Anzu run. How awesome would it have been to post getting Anzu on a level 65? But of course it didn’t drop. I hear *someone* got one last night though. We want pics!

Ok, time to go play.
