Ding! Ding!

December 16, 2014

A couple of level-ups to show off today.

First, my human warrior Sanbec became my second character to hit max level. He promptly upgraded his garrison of course and got his menagerie set up so that he could have pets wandering around just like Van does.

Speaking of pets, my adorable Elekk Plushie also dinged max level recently. I still have a ton of trainers to beat with her on the team, which is going to require leveling a few of my other pets first, but that’s ok, there’s plenty of time.

In other news, I received a bit of a shock last night when I logged on … I was the only person online in the guild. Say what? It’s raid night, where is everybody! Then I checked the guild message of the day. Oh. I see. The guild had been doing a joint mythic team with another guild. Obviously, if you’ve ever tried to do this you know how inconvenient it is to not have everyone in the same guild. I mean, it’s doable, but it’s just so much simpler when everyone is together in one. Rather than choose between the two existing guilds, they created a new guild for the raiding team. Makes perfect sense, but I knew it would mean the regular guild would be much quieter and eventually the alts that hadn’t moved already would also go. So for now, I moved back into my own guild. Might as well have access to my guild bank, right? Maybe later I will move into the new guild but I couldn’t really ask while they were raiding so I will wait until a non-raid night when people are available to chat.

More Alliance Questing

Just a couple more shots from Sanbec’s quest logs.

Goblins sure have some crazy ways of travelling.

Since his barracks reached level 2, he’s been taking that silly dwarf Delvar with him on his travels. And because I enjoy matching the mounts, he’s been riding around on the crimson deathcharger.

In other news that does not include screenshots, Van did LFR last night. It was quick and easy and completely painless, other than the long queue. I’ve pretty much decided that I’d take long queues over the stress of healing though. I am content being a nameless, faceless dps. He also finished leveling the Plushie to 25.

Faffing Around

December 4, 2014

So I’ve been leveling my warrior Sanbec on the Alliance side once Van has done his basic garrison things for the day. The other night after the long maintenance, my Horde realms were experiencing difficulty, so I got a lot done with Sanbec. I do, however, keep his helmet turned on because … sigh. I just can’t stand the new human faces, even after spending hours at the barber shop making adjustments. They just … they’ve completely lost their charm.

Anyway … there was a fun questline in Gorgrond where I could be a goren and go rolling all over the place.

Then after picking up Blook, I tried riding to Talador and found myself in an area with level 100 mobs … and level 69 moths. Wait a minute … are you SURE this is a different Draenor? I mean really, how did BC level moths end up here?

Once I managed to ride my always-useful water strider around the coast to mobs that are my level, I started a questline to beat up some iron horde and their siege machines and shredders. Right in the middle of all that iron, smoke, and ugliness, was this beautiful huge lotus at the edge of the stream. I had to stop my shredder and zoom in for a nice screenshot because … wow.

You can’t really tell from a screenshot how it sways ever so gently and has a soft glow, almost like an aura.

This is it!

Only hours to go now before Warlords of Draenor. I’m … well, I’m excited, but not in the same way as I have been for past expansions. I’m taking a more relaxed approach this time, much as I did back when Wrath dropped … before I got involved in that whole raiding business. Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed raiding, and made a lot of friends through it. But I am completely ready to just be casual and go at whatever pace I want to set for myself.

I don’t even know who I am going to level first. Van has been my main for something like an expansion and two-thirds now. If I was raiding, well, he would almost certainly be the no-brainer choice. Since I’m only going LFR now, I’m not locked into a choice. And, honestly, even if I was, it seems like they have healers already and I would be reasonably free to choose another dps character if I wanted. So the choice now is really … who do I want to do ALL OF TEH THINGS? You see, even though I am very much an altoholic, I do tend to have one character who gets played the most and goes through all of the quests and reputations. Like for instance, I only had two characters out of 15 at max level who finished unlocking all of Sunsong Ranch. Van was the only character who finished every quest in Pandaria. I only had one character on each faction who completed the Warsong Offensive/Operation Shieldwall storyline. So it’s a bit of an important decision in some ways.

Ok, so Van seems like a good choice. He’s got the best gear, he did the most in the last two expansions, I know I like playing him. But … the blood elves don’t have new models yet. So I’d be playing an old one. And what if, when the new models DO come out, I don’t like them? It could happen. I mean, look at what they did to humans. If that happens, well … I already plan to make one of my three male blood elf paladins into a female tauren. But I will wait until the models come out to decide which one, if it’s going to be the one that I play, or one that’s further down in the alt hierarchy.

Junahu, my Tauren huntress, would be a good choice too. She was my first character, leading the way into Wrath, my first expansion. She did Loremaster back before Cata revamped it and made it easier to accomplish … or at least made it easier to track and eliminated the travel between continents to do a single questline. She collected all of the trackable pets in Mists, has all of the spirit beasts from Wrath, and certainly has her eye on some new hunter pets in Draenor.

Of course, I don’t HAVE to choose someone that I have played a lot. Heck, I could do something crazy like let everyone else go jam up the starting areas while I go back to Pandaria and get the last two levels on Vorta so that she can prowl around Draenor in cat form.

Camouflage kitty!

WoWScrnShot_110414_193354

After all, if I’m not raiding, I have all the time in the world to level. I just have to get one character to 100 by the end of the year so that I can do Molten Core LFR and get a core hound mount. Priorities! :)
