Cloud Serpents

This is probably the last post for the year. Vacation, holidays, etc. will have me afk from both the game and the blog most likely. I might post an update or two from my phone depending … we’ll see how things go.

Not like I have much to post anyway. You’d get bored pretty fast with ‘I got a rare stunted yeti, I got a blahblahblah and another humanoid battle stone’ … I mean, I do plenty of things in game, I just don’t screenshot as much as I used to.

One thing I DO like to screenshot, however, is mounts. It’s been awhile now since I completed this grind (although it’s almost unfair to call it a grind since it goes so fast) but I never got around to posting the shots. So here … for the holidays, how about some really super awesome serpents? I didn’t expect to like them nearly as much as I do.

This azure is the one that I raised from my egg. Of course, I could just raise a different color with another character in order to get the others, right? Too much work … Van, spend some gold and just buy them yo! Good boy.

I still can’t decide what color I like best. I mean, I chose the azure, but I really love this gold one as well. And the jade, well, I wasn’t all that enamored with it until I was hovering around Blackrock Mountain waiting for Arv to come to BWL with me and noticed how shiny his scales are.

It’s not all serpents all the time though. I love my random mount macro. And sometimes the ‘plain old’ drakes make for great shots as well! Like when I was flying through the Blasted Lands to do my pet daily outside Kara and someone was doing that quest where you fight the demon … everything turned red as I passed over and I had to stop and capture the moment.

Can anyone even tell what color drake that actually is?

It Iz Mine!!11!

So, remember awhile back, like before MoP even hit, when I was all excited about seeing a clefthoof runt? Well … I finally got pets up to high enough level to visit Nagrand. So here he is!

Um … hey Karius, Hallow’s End is long since over. You can stop pretending to be a goblin chick.

Oh well, he always was … special. *cough* Sholazar *cough*

Anway, there were only about 3 of these in the zone, but the first one was uncommon, so I won’t complain. Losing not one, not two, but three different scalded basilisk hatchlings that I believe were rare … that I might complain about. Never getting an ominous seed … that I will complain about. Yes, I KNOW there are a bajillion terrible turnips on the AH. I don’t CARE! It’s not the same if I don’t grow my own. =P

Also, I hit the 500 pet limit in my pet journal again last night. Thank the Light that patch is dropping today and will increase the size to 625. Hell, even that won’t be enough, but at least I’ll have room for more! I still haven’t hit Shadowmoon Valley, Northrend, or Pandaria .. or the Cata zones … gahhhh!

Ooooops!!

I’ve been meaning to get this post up all week. I actually finally found time to write it yesterday … and then I couldn’t find the screenshots. I thought I forgot to send them to myself. Then last night before bed when I went to send them again, I found them. /fayle

I’ve been really enjoying the account-wide pets, mounts, and achievements. Titles on my lowbies? Yes please! Last night I dug the craptastic starter daggers out of the bank and sent Bloodsail Admiral Wega off to level. What? She has pages of mounts that she wants to ride. She made it to 10 … in her lovely black dress. Who needs armor when ambush takes at least half of each mob’s health, sometimes even one-shots them? (With white daggers … it’s a guaranteed one-shot with any heirlooms at all)

Is there anything cuter than a dwarf chick on a Deathcharger?

Yeah, Wega can’t wait to get her hands on that horse.

Poor Karius, it’s been so long since I paid attention to him … longer than I realized! I mean really … look …

Yes, that glowy shield around him is leftover from Children’s Week … told you it had been awhile. I had fun with his glyphs. The little bitty water elemental is from Conjure Familiar, and of course the shapeshift is some other glyph that lets you ‘look like someone else’ for something like 5 minutes. I was expecting it to be like the potion of illusion … obviously it’s not, as you have no choice in what you end up looking like. But it’s super fun!

Several toons went digging this week. I was very VERY excited to find that you now get 6 digs per site rather than only 3. That makes it go much quicker since you are getting twice as much done without having to travel.

Oh, and here is the horse in shadowform.

Arv is the Bestest Pal Eva

Ok, back on schedule here. Khizzara posted about her warlock Frank the other day, and when I clicked through and saw Frank’s round 4 outfit entry, I knew I had to post shots of Karius. I had been on him the night before I read her post and had taken screenshots, so I actually already had this post planned before I saw hers. His outfit has actually existed for a couple of months now, so it was created long before that contest round appeared. Kinda funny isn’t it? Anyway, let’s get on with it.

And from the other side:

The set was built around the Beastwalker Robe that he actually wore while leveling way back when. Yes, that’s right … he’s had that robe stuffed in his bank for THREE YEARS. Long before mogging was even something the community was dreaming of. Anywho … I threw together a combination of other things he had in his bank, things I nabbed off of one 10 minute visit to the AH, and things that he was already wearing. (yes, that’s his real cloak … shut up I know it sucks!) The shoulders (Slavehandler Amice) are dropped by plenty of mobs and shouldn’t be too hard to get your hands on. The Scepter of Celebras, however, was from a quest inside Mauradon that was removed in Cata, so it is no longer obtainable, which, of course, is one of the reasons I used it. What’s the point of having stuff no one can get anymore if you don’t show it off, right?

I’m not completely sold on the cloak, but it’s what he has so I’m going with it for now. I couldn’t really find one in MogIt that I liked better.

Ok, enough transmog stuff. On to the title of the post. This should really be two separate posts but … there are reasons that Arv is my favorite tank that have nothing to do with his actual tanking abilities.

You guys remember how I posted last week (holy cow, it wasn’t last week, it was Monday, god this week is dragging) about Arv’s new horse? Well, he told me at the time that there had been two of them listed, and when I looked I saw that it was true, there was another up there. BUT … it was more gold than I had so I couldn’t even bid. I told him how much I had and how much I was willing to pay and said I would pay him back if he would bid on it and win it for me. And he did!

OMG YOU GUYS! I HAVE A CRIMSON DEATHCHARGER!!!!

Looks ok with my holy set. Then I thought hmm … what if I mog my ret set back to that Warlord’s set that I was wearing awhile back? Except, once I put on my current ret set I realized that a) it looks pretty damn awesome and goes with the horse well enough and b) mogging costs money and I am currently in the red and trying to MAKE gold, not spend it. So I kept it as is.

I spent the rest of the evening doing orphan quests and old dungeons, relisting auctions every time that darn cow undercut me, and finding cool places to take screenshots of my horse. Like outside of Magister’s Terrace!

I even went to Old Hillsbrad so I could see how he looked on him as a human. Pretty hot IMO!

After that, Arv and I went and ground out some rep in Mt. Hyjal.

Then we helped Ado finish getting his Volcanic Stone Drake, and ran through MC once with Stunnah.

There were auction relists in between all of these activities of course. I have 5 days to make … well, it was 23k at the start of the night. By the end of the night I was down to only needing to make another 17k. I’ve got one full bank tab of ore to prospect. No problem! Hopefully I can make enough to not be broke AFTER paying him off.

So what do you think his name should be? I’m leaning towards Darkmane.

Also .. please please please! Let this be included in account-bound mounts someday. /beg Blizz

BTW … I didn’t log in to ToR at all last night. See? I TOLD you guys I wasn’t quitting WoW. I can play both. :p
