Dragon Caravan

January 14, 2014

So, I’ve almost come to the end of the RAF journey with my second pair, my bank alt Oranis and his rogue girlfriend Ilieda on Kargath. Over the course of their adventure, the Lemon Squares guild has hit level 4. Maybe I should finally get around to designing a tabard for it.

They headed out to Uldum on Sunday. Since the second account is pretty much only going to be used for RAF and then deactivated, I have not bought any flying for the character. I probably could have gotten away with not buying any riding at all, but I did because there are times when she needs to ride somewhere alone. But I skipped the flying. So she goes everywhere on the back of the Sandstone Drake. Well, when we went to join Adarrah’s caravan, I didn’t shift out of dragon form, assuming it would automatically ‘dismount’ me when I clicked on The Lady. So I clicked, and the caravan started moving, and there I was …

Interesting, well, I guess I’ll just head to the back of the wagon.

Sorry there, troll, I sort of take up more than my fair share of the space in this form. Ohai Budd! How’s it going, dude?

WoWScrnShot_011214_202131

Um, yeah, dragons don’t really have a /rude emote so … just pretend that this is a glare, ok? Thanks.

WoWScrnShot_011214_202225

Oh, Adarrah, I just LOVE the smell of that shampoo. You must tell me what it is! This is way more important than the fact that we are in a cage, trust me.

Yeah, so …

in other news!

We cleared to Garrosh last night and I got to at least get some attempts in on him. Here we are all in our Mr. Smite disguise with some D.I.S.C.O. and we also had an ogre pinata and it was almost but not quite like having Arv around.

WoWScrnShot_011314_222324

We didn’t get him, but that’s ok. I’m not the only one new to the raid, so we had some behind on gear issues and of course just some learning curve issues because hey … this is not LFR and it is Garrosh! Not some scrub. I would honestly be disappointed if it didn’t take some work. So maybe this week. I’m having a good time anyway. It’s clear that this group has a solid core of people that enjoy raiding with each other and are truly friends, and that is way more important to me than where they are in progression.

Alt Week: Mage

September 13, 2013

I know I’ve said every week that this is a big one but … well, each week it’s been true!

Rozjin

When Juna first started raiding, there were a couple of troll mages she met who dazzled her with their shiny purple arcane missiles. So, after Juna and Arelin got leveled, the next character I rolled was Rozjin.

Despite being wooed to mage by the arcane, it was NOT a good spec for leveling back in Wrath. So Roz went about setting things on fire and then switched somewhere in the 60s when he learned arcane blast. He leveled fast and got to Naxx, where he won himself the armor set that I’d wanted so bad.

So anyway, Roz became part of the max level trio, and also joined my buddy Fiak (who got me into the game in the first place) in PvP. Then our guild kinda died, and I moved to another server, dragging a reluctant Fiak along with me. That one didn’t really last either, although we made friends there who I am still friends with to this day (shout out to the Shenanigans crew!). So, I started rolling Alliance alts on a third server. That one did last, and my Alliance are still housed there today.

Karius

One of the first toons I rolled there was Karius.

It wasn’t long at all before the original Horde toons began to collect dust, while Karius became the new main. He remained as such throughout the rest of Wrath, although the DK upstaged him because of a need for a tank and got Kingslayer first. He had a lot of fun though, and had really awesome friends to hang out with, like Elgar …

and Hartbane …

and Lore …

yes, I’m the dead one. :p

And of course, Grom!

He made a serious attempt to remain as the main in Cata, but .. like with Kaly and the Lich King, people just did not need another DPS. I made the swap to holy pally and haven’t really looked back because, well, I do enjoy healing. So Karius remains in limbo, although Roz did get leveled because he HAD to get Darkspear Revolutionary.

And that’s it for Mage Week. It’s a class I have played as my main and enjoyed quite a lot. :)

Terrific Trio

August 21, 2013

Well, that part didn’t take long at all. Once I switched to fire, I stopped watching the xp bar and started having fun. I don’t believe things actually died faster, it just seemed like it since I was enjoying it.

WoWScrnShot_082113_000138

Yes that is my buddy Kovok covering my head in the shot. hehe.

So, that was the easy part. Now for the hard part. The two scenarios to unlock the Barrens questline, which I will coerce guildies into helping with, and then the Barrens stuff itself, which will be faster with help but can be done solo if I am patient.

One Week AAAAAAHHHHHH

August 20, 2013

omg omg the patch is in one week what ?!?!

Yeah ok it’s not like I didn’t know. I’ve known since the info was leaked well over a week ago. So what do I still want to get done over this final week?

Obviously, killing Lei Shen is priority. We have tonight and tomorrow as our regular raid nights to get it done. We should have our full group available. Cross your fingers.

Then there is Battlefield: Barrens. I’ve gotten four toons through it, three of which also finished the weekly to get the title. Kalyon doesn’t really care if he gets the title; he was the first toon to kill the Lich King while it was current content, so he is Kingslayer for life.

Which brings us to Rozjin. As you might guess from the name, he is a troll. Last night after working off Adryen’s bonus xp, I wasn’t ready to log off yet (partly because there were people on in guild and it’s always fun when there are people making fun of Arv chatting). Let’s see … Roz is halfway through 88, has 43 minutes on a carousel buff, and full rested xp. Let’s do this! I didn’t even think of the Barrens until he was almost 89, then the thought hit me … I have one week and full rested xp. If I can at least get him to 90, I bet I can get guildies and stalker ID friends to help me with the scenarios and maybe even burn down some commanders. Adoe always has fun with that. Arv? Slice? It would be a real shame if my troll didn’t get Darkspear Revolutionary for his title.

BTW I realized after one quest hub why I hadn’t finished leveling him yet. Frost is BORING. It used to be fun. Back in Cata, there were big old Deep Freeze crits that were so awesome they made me weep with joy. Now it’s just … sigh. So I went back to fire, which is how Roz originally leveled. Pyroblast! is just plain FUN.
