Dead Kings

Progress was made again this week in Mogu’shan Vaults.

First, I got to check out Zug’s new ride.

I think we should have traded, his matches my outfit. And yes, I’m riding a plain old windrider. I have a random mount addon, so that all of them get a chance to come out once in awhile.

Took a few tries with some bad chain combos and stuff, but we downed the dogs AND everyone had the right pet out.

Hm, looks like I had my HoT on Fayle. Must have misclicked something.

I didn’t hit my screenshot button fast enough on Feng because I wasn’t expecting an achievement, but we got that one as well. Arv rocks, nuff said.

That took a few pulls, as did Gara’jal, but we got them all and moved on to pull the Spirit Kings three or four times before quitting time. On our best pull we got two of them down and were working on the third when it all went to hell, so we knew it wouldn’t take long to get the hang of it.

Not long is a bit of an understatement, as we went in last night and downed them on the first pull.

There WAS a slight delay in getting the raid started though, as Ahmule noticed several hundred stacks of cheap ore for sale, so some of us got a bit distracted filling up our gbank tabs. >.>

Alright! Let’s go kill us a star dragon.

Yeah … the TRASH leading up to Elegon kicked our asses. We one shot the Spirit Kings … and wiped repeatedly on trash. We did get through it eventually, thanks to the super kiting skills of Adoe, but geez. And Elegon himself is going to be a couple nights of learning. There is a lot going on that has to be timed right, plus the tight enrage, and so many phases to learn. It’s like LK or Rag … totally seems like an end boss.

I had a bit of fun standing inside the ring and playing around with the celestial form it gives me, though.

I think we have the dance down for Elegon, we just need to work on the specifics of damage/healing

    We’ve got this bugger

OMG I totally should have written up a guide to the Elegon trash! I completely forgot! It kicked our asses the first time we went in there too, but it’s super easy when you know the trick to it.

The big knockback guys gain a buff that increases their damage after the knockback, so each tank should allow themselves to be knocked way down the hallway and then kite the mob until the buff wears off. (Just be careful not to pull extra adds while kiting.) Then the tank should repeat that going the opposite direction. We assigned one healer to each tank because otherwise they’d get out of range and sometimes die. The two knockback mobs should die at about the same time because they buff each other if they die.

The second pull has two knockback guys and some other mob that has fairly harmless abilities. DPS down the less dangerous one first to get him out of the way while the tanks do the knockback dance, then kill the knockback guys.

The third pull has 5 mobs, two knockback guys, two random fairly harmless mobs, and one big guy in the center that heals. Have the tanks kite the knockback ones as per usual while the DPS takes out the big healer, then the two random mobs, and then the knockback ones.

Oh, and grats on Spirit Kings and many achievements!

Khiz – We actually found that they don’t buff each other when one dies if they aren’t near each other.

We had Adoe kite one into another room and we would burn down one. Once that one was dead Adoe would bring in the 2nd guy and we’d kill him with no problem.

Good to know. We’d noticed them not buffing each other after one died, which is probably because our tanks had been knocked all over the place.

They need to change our celestial form back to our original, I miss my Napoleon dance….
